Anyway, onto my favourite OP and ED songs of Spring 2009!

1. Again- YUI from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Well, Of course this is my favourite OP for Spring. The lyrics even match Fullmetal Alchemist! I noticed t hat A lot of poeple were complaining that Again just did not fit with Fullmetal Alchemst. Need I remind you that YUI also did the best Opening and ending songs for Bleach ever?

2. JAP- Abington Boys School from BASARA

Dancing samurai, a great GAR song, and Abington Boys School? What more could I ask for in a opening!? Also, really great Engrish in BASARA. Put ya guns on!

3. Falling Down-Oasis from Eden of The East

I wasn’t even planning on watching Eden of the East, but with all the hype I just had too. God, I sure glad I did. Great opening song, animation, real American actors. Sheesh. Although that uh… penis cutting was uh… yeah.

4. Cagayake! Girls-from K-ON!

Alright. Kyoani is the god of all anime openers. I still like Lucky Star’s opening although. I have to give it to Yui’s seiyuu though, she has pretty good English.

5. Super Driver- Hirano Aya from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuustu 2009

I’m one of those that LIKED this opening. It’s fun, great singing by Hirano Aya, and goddamn Kyoani wins at English.

Don’t say ‘LAZY’- K-ON ending

MY ONLY FAVOURITE ENDING. God did most of the endings suck this season. This is like, myb second favourite ending followed by the Hare Hare Yukai. Quite a feat indeed.

So, like I promised here’s my (Very late) review on Soul Eater!

Soul Eater, the crazy meshed up series with freaking everything so right with it. Yeah, you may have heard of it. Chances are that the dub that recently got licensed may appear on Adult Swim late into the year or next year. (Well, that SUCKS.)

Why do I love this series so? Because of the amazing animation and characters. Every. Freakin’. Character. Is. AWESOME.  Some of them aren’t used as much as I’d want them to be. (Like Justin Freakin’ Christ.) And some of them are annoying. (Like Exerbur.) Since the characters are so unique, I’ll post my views on my favourite characters starting with Death the Kid.

Death The Kid

Okay, so as you’ve noticed Kid’s my favourite Soul Eater character. Well, who doesn’t love the guy? His OCD is annoying but makes Kid a pycopath and full of laughs and dorkiness. (Quite like Lelouch’s dorkiness.)

I mean really, Kid’s as cool as cool can be. He has a freakin’ flying skateboard! (Something that I’ve been wanting forever now.) I can’t really put Kid into words, that’s because his personailty is flying all over the place! I do have to say that Kid made Soul Eater for me. Along with Maka, Chrona, and Justin Freakin’ Christ.

Maka

The heroine of Soul Eater. The one who changed Chrona’s life and Soul’s life.

What should I say about Maka? A kickass heroine, which is rare in a shounen anime. FMA has kickass girls I have to say although. Maka is strong hearted and loves even her cheating Dad.

Really though, I love her to bits because she’s kickass like Yoko from Gurren Lagann.  (Whom I love to bits too.)

Chrona

Chrona, the genderless kid who probably has the best hair I have ever seen in an anime, smack dab next to Izumi Konata. That being said, Chrona isn’t all that tough on the inside, nor does Chrona have any real blood. Just black blood that allows Chrona to heal Chrona’s wounds. (Oh god do I hate typing for genderless characters. And trap characters.)

And sheesh can Chrona bawl! I just wanna hug Chrona at times. Because Chrona’s so cute!

Justin Freakin’ Christ

Okay, so why am I writing something on a minor character like Justin? BECUASE HE’S A PRIEST WHO KICKS SO MUCH ASS.

Really. The guy kicks ass. And his name is so awesome.

Soul Eater Evens

I got into Soul Eater when I learned that Soul’s seiyuu is that one that does Neku from The World Ends With You Japanese voice. I started banging my desk in laughter, because I saw that Neku and Soul are so much a like.

Uh… Soul also has a very MANLY HEADBAND.

Black Star

What can I say for this annoying kid? Well, Black Star is very annoying, says ‘YO HO!’ a lot. And is an attention seeker. Yet I love him.

All I gotta say is that Tsubaki is one very, very unlucky girl.

Sentin

I love this guy because of his CRAZAH scenes. Really.

Why I recommend Soul Eater?

Soul Eater is really made for everyone. Maybe not adults, nor your parents, but it is made for everyone the same.

The manga is still ongoing, and I’m guessing that Soul Eater will have a few OVA’s along the way.

Did I mention how AWESOME the animation for Soul Eater is? Because it is. The music is also very EPIC.

 

This was a really nice opening theme. Nice animation, and YUI’s just fits FMA 2: Brotherhood like a charm. I heard that YUI took a hitus before doing FMA 2: Brotherhood’s song. Is that true?

Ending: Usu-SID

I don’t think too much of the ending. But the pictures that go with it are SOOOOO cute! It’s just made of win really!~

Thoughts:

Now this was one epic episode. Almost an anime original, but the ending tells otherwise. The preview looks like it’s following the manga from here on out now.

The animation was perfect. Looks like it came from the manga. Music was also epic. I’m still lol’ing at Paku Romi still has her Ed voice. And I must be the only person that likes Roy’s new snotty voice. If you’ve ever read the manga, Roy’s a lot more snotty then in the old anime.

… I still hate Kagamiya Rie. URUSAI… geez.

 On another note that ice alchemist reminded me of the waterbenders in Avatar The Last Airbender. (IMO, a cartoon that you SHOULD watch since it’s by otakus themselfs.) And I know that Avatar runs in Japan.

I’ll post my thoughts on the final episode soon, and K-ON too. (I can’t find a high quality sub online for some off reason.) For now though, just enjoy the theme songs of Soul Eater.

It seems like the anime is following the manga. So for those of you that think this is the sequel to the old anime, well, it isn’t!

Unlike with some people, I got used to Roy’s new voice right away.

I’m probably going to end up blogging two anime series this Spring. It’s a lot more better than the Winter season, where I’m not watching anything at all.

It look’s kickass, although the studio Xebec is just holding me back for some odd reason. Kanokon was just stupid and perverted, normly I’m able to handle stupid stuff, but perverted that’s close to hentai? No way. I’ll end up blogging the first episode too see is it’s any good.

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m not a huge JC Staff nor Rie Kagamiya fan at all. I did watch the first episode of the first series, and did like it. I like otaku stuff like this it seems like. xD The random episodes really help too, seeing as I don’t need any previous knowledge of the first series, save for the first episode.
